Vivo’s seemingly never-ending barrage of Y-series phones continues, as the company prepares to release yet another model. There has been no word from official Vivo channels, but the Vivo Y55s, the Y53s’ new sibling, is set to launch on December 4. The phone has been approved by regulatory authorities, one of which has made its specifications and previews public.

The Vivo Y55s is listed in the China Telecom database, along with its detailed specifications and two press images. It’s a formulaic design based on a blueprint shared by nearly every recent Y-series phone.
A curved plastic shell with an iridescent blue finish and a clean, accented camera plate housing two lenses and an LED flash are on display. The Vivo Y55s are also available in Ceramic Black and Cherry Pink Meteor.
Turn the new Vivo price list member over to meet its notched screen. It has a 6.58″ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080P and an 8MP front camera embedded in its notch. The dual rear camera consists of 50MP wide and 2MP portrait lenses. The Y55s also has a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio port, and a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

The phone has a large footprint, measuring 9.17mm deep and weighing 199g. The massive 6000 mAh battery inside the Vivo Y55s accounts for the majority of the weight. It has over 18W of power. You also get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Everything is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G. This hardware supports Android 11. The Vivo Y55s is priced at 1,899 Yuan (Rs. 52,000).
