The Xiaomi Redmi K50 range is still shrouded in mystery, with little to no information available. However, we now have some of the crucial specs of the top-tier member of the family, the K50 Pro+, thanks to a reputable Weibo tipster.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Yes. Xiaomi looks to be working on a new Pro+ model of the K50, and its fundamental specifications have been exposed. The handset will be powered by the powerful and yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 898 CPU, with a 5,000 mAh battery keeping the lights on. The display, speaking of lights, is said to be curved, with a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint reader.
Or at least that’s what we deduced from a sloppy Google translation of the Weibo post. A 108MP main camera and a periscope telephoto shooter are expected on the camera front. If those specifications are correct, the Pro+ will be a true flagship, not merely a flagship killer.
However, the Snapdragon 898 part leads us to suspect that the K50 Pro+ will not be available for the holiday season this year. Qualcomm’s flagship SoCs are normally announced around the end of each year, and the first devices employing the companies latest and greatest are released at the start of the next. As a result, it’s safe to infer that the Redmi K50 Pro+ will be released in early 2022.
