Xiaomi 12 Series is Slated for a Global Release Soon; Launch Timeline and Features

Last year, Xiaomi released its flagship Xiaomi 12 series as a China-only offering. For quite some time, rumors have projected its global release. However, Xiaomi finally went on record today to announce the device’s arrival. Xiaomi’s social media platforms have already posted the first teases.

On March 15, 2022, the Xiaomi 12 series will make its international debut. The launch will be held virtually, as expected. On Xiaomi’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and official website, you may watch it live. At least two Xiaomi flagships are expected to be unveiled at the event, likely the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

For the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi chose a form factor that is rather small. However, the two phones have an almost identical design. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 50W wireless charging, stereo speakers, and Gorilla Glass Victus shells are all the same.

According to the brand’s leaked marketing invite, the impending addition to the Xiaomi pricing catalog is “The solution to all.” The device’s Pro display is a next-generation LTPO AMOLED screen with a QHD+ resolution, 1500 nits of peak brightness, and a dynamically adjusted refresh rate of 120Hz. The Xiaomi 12 screen is a typical 1080P OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1100 nits of brightness, but it is still capable.

The Xiaomi 12 is powered by a 4500 mAh battery with 67W supercharging, whereas the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with 120W charging capabilities. The camera system on the latter is made up of three 50MP lenses that can be used for wide, telephoto, and ultra-wide shots.

The Xiaomi 12’s camera array, on the other hand, includes 50MP wide, 13MP ultra-wide, and 5MP tele-macro sensors. When the two phones officially launch, we’ll have pricing and other features to report.
