Xiaomi 12 Lite NE 5G Passes FCC Certification; Launch Preparations Underway

It’s time for Xiaomi to begin making plans for the new Lite 5G member of the Xiaomi 12 flagship family. The most recent inclusion in the FCC database and Singapore’s IMDA certification suggest that a formal announcement won’t be far off. Several fascinating details about the incoming member are revealed in the Federal Communications Commission listing.

We have the “Xiaomi 12 light NE 5G” label allocated with code “2210129SG” starting with the make and model number. The document states that Android 12 x MIUI 13 will be the default operating system for the device. According to the branding, it will have a 5G-capable processor inside.

The listing also reveals capabilities for Bluetooth, dual-band 5GHz WiFi, GNSS, and NFC connectivity. There will be three RAM/ROM configurations with memory sizes ranging from 6GB to 8GB. The lowest configuration pairs 6GB RAM with 128GB of storage, the medium configuration 8GB RAM with 128GB, and the maximum configuration 8GB RAM with 256GB.

According to all the information provided in the FCC announcement, the new Xiaomi lite mobile could end up dominating the mid-range smartphone market. The rivalry will become as thrilling as the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G from the previous year.

In comparison to its predecessor, the Mi 11 Lite featured a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 1080p FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 5G chipset, 8GB+256GB storage on the top-end model, and a 4250mAh battery with 33W charging capability.

The Mi 11 light 5G had a 20MP selfie camera up front and three cameras at the back: a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP telephoto+macro sensor.
