Vivo Y01 Officially Announced With Entry-level Specs; Long Battery Life, Lightweight Design

The Vivo Y01 is the brand’s most affordable smartphone. Earlier this year, the younger sibling to the recently introduced Vivo Y15s was leaked. Vivo has officially released it to the global market, and we’ve got the details on the features and specifications.

The Vivo Y01 is a budget smartphone with only the most basic, fundamental functions. It’s made of plastic and comes in two colors: Sapphire Blue and Elegant Black. Vivo has used a geometric motif on the casing.

In the corner, we find a squarish housing with a single camera and an LED flash. It’s a single 8MP lens that’s ordinary. Turn the phone over to reveal a 5MP front camera that is even more basic. It’s hidden inside a notch on the screen.

The Y01 features a 6.51-inch IPS LCD with a standard 720P resolution. Your eyes are protected by a built-in blue light filter. The new Vivo cheap phone weighs 178g and has a depth of 8.28mm. There is no fingerprint security, but there is a 2D Face Access feature.

The Vivo Y01 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35, a low-end CPU from the previous generation. It’s powered by a large 5000 mAh battery that charges via an out-of-date micro-USB port. It comes with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage from Vivo.

MicroSD storage can be added to it. The Vivo Y01 is powered by FunTouchOS 11.1 x Android Go (made for entry-level phones). The cost has yet to be determined.
