Vivo X Fold S Leak Uncovers Battery, SoC, and Charging Speed Upgrades

Vivo’s novelty folding “X Fold” launched in April, just three months ago. Additionally, rumors about the improved Vivo X Fold S are already circulating. The newest screen folder from Vivo will compare well to the Samsung Z Fold 4.

According to the speculations, the X Fold S’s chipset, battery, and charging speed are all improved over the original X Fold. These adjustments could offer this folding phone a huge advantage over the competition as the greatest tablet-to-phone gadget. Let’s examine what information regarding these updates has leaked.

The engine that is located under the hood comes first on the list. Here, we’ll take a look at Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU, a 4nm-based SoC designed for maximum battery life and flagship-level performance. In terms of power-to-performance, it represents a huge improvement over the X Fold’s 8 Gen 1 Chip.

When it comes to tablet-to-phone technologies, screen-up time is not their strong suit. The latter is a super-efficient chip, but there is still space for improvement by figuratively scaling up the battery capacity. Vivo’s New Fold variant has a 4,700mAh battery, compared to the 4,600mAh battery of the original X Fold. The change may appear insignificant, but when SoCs like the eight plus Gen 1 are used, it results in a significant improvement.

When you carry a large power brick for an emergency top-up, battery life is not a major problem. Vivo has dominated the foldable market in this regard as well. The X Fold S from Vivo’s flagship series enables an 80W charging speed as opposed to the 66W of its predecessor.

The X Fold S specs sheet hasn’t undergone any significant changes aside from the upgrades we covered here. It will carry over the same 6.53″ cover display and 8.03″ folding screen. (50 MP + 48 MP + 12 MP + 8 MP) Quad-camera setup with Zeiss lens coating. identical storage-RAM configuration and physical footprint to X Fold. According to reports from Digital Chat Station, the phone will reportedly become official in September.
