Realme has been dabbling in premium-ish phones with their new-fangled GT series, with the Realme GT Master Edition arriving in Pakistan last month. However, these are marketed as ‘flagship killers,’ rather than true flagships. That is about to change as Realme prepares to launch its first premium phone, the Realme GT 2 Pro.

It’s an old story. A BBK phone company’s journey begins as an enthusiast brand. They produce one flagship-killer phone per year at an unbeatable price for a niche market. Once the brand gains traction, it becomes more mainstream, eventually selling flagship phones designed for a global audience. Oppo and OnePlus both took this route. Realme will soon join them with the release of the Realme GT 2 Pro.
Sky Li, Realme’s founder, and CEO stated on Twitter that the Realme GT 2 Pro is the company’s first premium flagship phone. Given that the marketing campaign has only recently begun, the GT 2 Pro’s official release shouldn’t be too far away.
Mr. Li did not provide a preview. However, Steve Hemmerstoffer (of SlashLeaks) leaked press mockups of the New GT Realme mobile. The image depicts a distinct but familiar design.

The Realme GT 2 Pro has a one-piece design with the camera flush (sticking out like a visor) and the lens and LED array housed within. It’s “inspired” heavily by the Nexus 6P. Recently, the Google Pixel 6 series debuted with a similar design. Except that the edges are flat and sharp here. The phone is also available in mint and ivory colors. In any case, it has a different design language than any other phone in Realme’s lineup.
The triple-camera system is said to have 50MP+50MP+8MP sensors. Mr. Hemmerstoffer goes on to say that Realme used custom lenses to reduce image artifacts. Because the GT 2 Pro is a flagship, only the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is appropriate. The leak also mentions 125W Ultra DART charging, a 120Hz screen, and UFS 3.1 storage.
