On February 4, the Oppo Reno 7 series will make its global premiere. However, the pre-release marketing effort began more than a week ago. Oppo showed the design process for the distinctive finish on these phones to generate more buzz around the upcoming Reno series.

The OPPO Reno 7 SE, Reno 7 Pro, and Reno 7 are all part of the Reno series. They don’t offer a major change over their predecessors, but the Reno 7 series has the most striking and polished appearance (due to the many variations of the model). The beautiful slab phone has clean lines, a flat frame, an LED notification light, and a balanced, geometric design.
The shooting star finish’ on the glass casings of Reno 7 phones is, obviously, the showpiece. A long exposure captures a star trail created by the metal brush texture. The design is completed with a mix of glittering glossy and matte surfaces.
Oppo said it used ‘Laser Direct Imaging,’ or LDI, technology to etch incredibly small lines on the shells during the design process. Typically, this technology is used to print specialized circuit boards. However, it was repurposed here to etch no fewer than 1.2 million etchings onto the glass surface of the new Reno OPPO smartphone.
When viewed from different angles, the optical illusion is created by the Reno 7’s multiple photosensitive layers, which create the star trail pattern. A more ordered lens cluster, split into two half, may be found on the camera island.

Its highlights complement the backplate well. The camera housing’s rails are also composed of zirconium for increased durability and scratch resistance.
